On the civic level I was a key player in several community projects that created awareness to the need for bridging the generational gap and to  bringing about the beautification of our city, Jeddah

In 2007 I co-founded  an initiative called “MUWATANA” that advocated for citizens rights to have recreational open spaces and clean pedestrian friendly cities.   Our first project was The Save Corniche Jeddah initiative which lead to the beautification of the waterfront and its renovation as we see it today.

Additionally, during the Jeddah floods of 2009,  “MUWATANA” and its 2000 youth volunteers was mandated to be the executive arm of the Al Bir Charitable Society, to cater to the needs of the flood victims.

That was the first time that an official charitable organization handed over its responsibilities to an informal society initiative.
